(1) Fortified heritage includes fortification lines, individual fortresses, fortified towns, citadels, castles, fortified palaces, fortified landscapes and defence lines.
(2) The University of Malta offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in all fields of knowledge including programmes on tourism, cultural management and heritage conservation.
(3) FORTE CULTURA is a European Cultural Route of fortified heritage that connects cities and regions through their tangible and intangible legacies of fortifications. It interprets bastions, fortified cities, defensive lines and bunkers as evidence of the evolution of military architecture and as contemporary spaces for culture, learning and dialogue.
