Berlin (DE): Orte der Geschichte e.V. strengthens network

The Berlin-based association organizes guided tours and excursions to architectural remnants from the Cold War era (barracks, airfields, and bunker complexes).

In addition, the association is committed to making the most modern communications bunker of the former GDR accessible to the public as the Kulturbunker Strausberg. In autumn 2019, the first phase saw the approximately 300-meter-long access tunnel converted into a gallery tunnel. Guided tours of the impressive monument were also offered. Under the motto “Communication connects – friendship unites,” this Cold War monument is to be gradually developed into an extracurricular learning and educational site as well as a meeting place for creative minds and people interested in history, with a planned reopening in 2021.

Furthermore, under the leadership of Martin Kaule, the association organizes fascinating journeys to lost places and the fortress heritage of the 20th century across Europe and implements numerous book projects. With FORTE CULTURA®, the reach and range of offerings are to be expanded.
