Oleg Pogorelets, director of the Ukrainian fortress Medzhybizh, and Dirk Röder (FORTE CULTURA) met at the German–Polish border to exchange news and discuss upcoming activities.

Oleg reported on the war and its impacts on the fortress — which has already suffered some damage from mis‑aimed projectiles and from shock waves of large explosions nearby. He stressed the urgency of aid from Europe and welcomed FORTE CULTURA’s ongoing donation campaign on betterplace.com.

They also visited the new museum “History Station Seelow (Mark)” about the history of the region between 1930 and 1960, which was established under the EU project “Erinnerung verbindet die Oder Warta region.” (www.erinnerung-verbindet.de).
