Sie wurde zwischen 1728 und 1732 von K\u00f6nig Karl Emanuel III. erbaut und sollte als Barriere an der alten spanischen Milit\u00e4rstra\u00dfe zwischen Genua und Savona dienen und die Verteidigung des neuen Staates Savoyen unterst\u00fctzen. Aufgrund ihrer Gr\u00f6\u00dfe (\u00fcber 60 Hektar), ihrer typologischen Struktur und ihres Erhaltungszustands ist die Zitadelle einzigartig unter den europ\u00e4ischen Festungsanlagen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Die Zitadelle ist ein Wahrzeichen der Kultur, der Erinnerung und der Verteidigung, aber auch ein Symbol der europ\u00e4ischen Planung: Sie beherbergt das Projekt \"Lighthouse Heritage Community\" des Europarats, das neue Modelle f\u00fcr die gemeinsame, nachhaltige und innovative Verwaltung des kulturellen Erbes entwickeln soll. Der Wert der Zitadelle liegt in ihrem interdisziplin\u00e4ren Charakter: Sie ist eine \"Anthologie der Verteidigungsarten\" (beginnend mit dem von Sebastien de Vauban, dem Milit\u00e4ringenieur des Sonnenk\u00f6nigs, entwickelten System) sowie ein Ort der Erinnerung und der kollektiven ethischen und sozialen Identit\u00e4t mit Blick auf die Zukunft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper\">Im Netzwerk FORTE CULTURA ist die Zitadelle durch den Verein <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alfarocittadellapace.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Associazione Cittadella di Alessandria \"Faro\" di pace in Europa - Ente del Terzo settore'.<\/a> ('Alessandria Citadel Association \"Faro\" for Peace in Europe - Third Sector Organisation').
