Der Verlust der urspr\u00fcnglichen Funktion der Verteidigungsarchitektur - oder der Festungsarchitektur - hat zu ihrer Zerst\u00f6rung oder Verschlechterung beigetragen, eine Situation, die 2006 mit der Ausarbeitung und Umsetzung eines nationalen Plans f\u00fcr Verteidigungsarchitektur, dessen Ziel die Erhaltung und Aufwertung dieses Erbes ist, behoben werden sollte. Einige wenige Festungsanlagen stehen unter direkter Kontrolle der Pr\u00e4sidentschaft, des Verteidigungsministeriums und der Streitkr\u00e4fte, mit strengen beh\u00f6rdlichen Auflagen und Sicherheitsvorkehrungen wie Zugangskontrollen, Sicherung des Gel\u00e4ndes und \u00dcberwachung. Dennoch ist es m\u00f6glich, einige dieser St\u00e4tten auf Anfrage zu besuchen. Mein Ziel ist es, drei ikonische milit\u00e4rische St\u00e4tten aus dem 16. Die Bew\u00e4ltigung dieser Herausforderungen erfordert eine kontinuierliche, robuste und multidimensionale Messung. Ank\u00fcnfte, \u00dcbernachtungen und Tourismuseinnahmen allein sind unzureichend; die Belastbarkeit der Reiseziele bildet die wesentliche Grundlage f\u00fcr ein evidenzbasiertes Management, w\u00e4hrend Initiativen wie UNWTO INSTO, ETIS und andere Indikatorenrahmen die wirtschaftlichen, sozialen und \u00f6kologischen Auswirkungen des Tourismus auf verschiedenen Ebenen verfolgen - von einzelnen Orten bis hin zu Territorien, Nationen und der internationalen Ebene. Die Pr\u00e4sentation gibt einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber die wichtigsten Indikatorenrahmen und hebt eine der zentralen methodischen Herausforderungen hervor: die Aggregation und Skalierung von Daten \u00fcber einzelne Standorte hinaus, um regionale und nationale Entscheidungsprozesse sinnvoll zu unterst\u00fctzen. The scene of military action on several occasions, it has attracted the world\u2019s attention through unsuccessful sieges in the 18th century, during the shifting of traditional alliances in the Napoleonic Wars, and in the two world wars of the 20th century. In the 21st century, agreed solutions are being devised to remove an anachronistic border within Europe, whilst the Strait of Gibraltar is taking on greater significance in a turbulent international context. The 18th century saw the revival of that border which had disappeared at the end of the Middle Ages, when the Crown of Castile conquered all the lands bordering the Strait, expelling the Merinids first and the Nasrids later. Medieval castles gave way to bastioned fortifications which, around the isthmus of Gibraltar, established immovable positions for centuries, despite the blood shed in attempts to change that <em>statu quo<\/em>. Those fortifications are today, in a very uneven state of preservation, centres of tourist attraction and academic interest, as well as the subject of this paper. The Gibraltar Counter-Fortification Line defined the nerve centre where territories with very different fortification models converged, then facing off around the Bay of Algeciras. On one side, the fortified system of the Kingdom of Seville\u2019s coastline, which looked out onto the Strait with Verboom\u2019s works, alongside that of the Granada coastline, with the works designed by Jos\u00e9 de Crame. Im Jahr 1375 bestand die Stadt aus zwei ausgedehnten, getrennten ummauerten Gehegen, die n\u00f6rdlich und s\u00fcdlich eines Flusses lagen und als <em>Las Algeciras<\/em> bekannt waren. Die Organisation ist Eigent\u00fcmerin eines Portfolios von 34 nationalen Baudenkm\u00e4lern und monumentalen Komplexen. Zu diesem Portfolio geh\u00f6ren die Festungsanlagen von Naarden (seit 2021 UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe). Als Eigent\u00fcmerin dieser Festungsanlagen befindet sich Monumentenbezit als private Partei inmitten des \u00f6ffentlichen Lebens und der Dynamik einer Kleinstadt. Die Festungsanlagen machen mehr als die H\u00e4lfte der Gesamtfl\u00e4che der Stadt aus und sind ein wichtiger Erholungsort f\u00fcr die gesamte dicht besiedelte Region. Obwohl sie sich in Privatbesitz befinden, fungieren die Festungsanlagen als \u00f6ffentlicher Raum. Einerseits passt dies gut zur Politik von Monumentenbezit. Eines der Ziele der Organisation ist es, die Monumente mit der \u00d6ffentlichkeit zu teilen: indem sie diese \u00f6ffnet und durch Artikel, Vortr\u00e4ge und Ausstellungen \u00fcber ihre Geschichte und kulturelle Bedeutung spricht. Ein Beispiel hierf\u00fcr ist das 2021 er\u00f6ffnete Besucherzentrum der Organisation in Naarden.<\/em> <em>Andererseits bedrohen die Besucher unfreiwillig das Erbe. Dies zeigt sich haupts\u00e4chlich in der Vegetation auf den W\u00e4llen. Die Kombination aus Hitze und langen Trockenperioden im Sommer, verursacht durch den Klimawandel, und der zunehmenden Besucherzahl, verursacht irreparable Sch\u00e4den an der Vegetation und den Erdw\u00e4llen. Dies hat zu einer Politik\u00e4nderung im Gr\u00fcnmanagement der Festungsanlagen gef\u00fchrt. Der Vortrag wird die Vision hinter dieser neuen Politik, die Forschung, die zu ihr gef\u00fchrt hat, die Schritte zur Umsetzung dieser neuen Politik und die in Zukunft zu unternehmenden Schritte er\u00f6rtern. Er wird auch zeigen, dass jede Position in der Festung einen eigenen Ansatz erfordert, abh\u00e4ngig von Zug\u00e4nglichkeit und Vegetationsart. Zuletzt, aber keineswegs unwichtig, wird auch auf die Beziehung zur Gemeinde und den Besuchern der Festungsanlagen eingegangen. Ohne ihre Hilfe und Kooperation wird eine erfolgreiche Umsetzung dieser Politik unm\u00f6glich sein.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size eplus-wrapper\" style=\"line-height:1.3\">Die Politik\u00e4nderung, \u00fcber die ich spreche, konzentriert sich darauf, die Vegetation zu nutzen, um die \u00d6ffentlichkeit dorthin zu lenken, wo wir sie haben wollen, und sie von empfindlichen Gebieten fernzuhalten. Following the Mendiz\u00e1bal Disestablishment, the building ceased to be a monastic centre and was occupied by the army, serving as barracks and becoming a vital node for logistics, communications and surveillance within the region&#8217;s territorial defence. The rehabilitation of the Monastery was one of the selected proposals within the Program for the Improvement of Competitiveness and Revitalisation of Historical Heritage for Tourist Use, promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. The project develops different actions, such as the improvement of roofs; restoration and replacement of carpentry; rehabilitation of cloisters; reform of spaces; restoration of the altarpiece, mural paintings and chapter house; kitchen equipment; landscaping; exterior lighting; and communication. This initiative establishes a framework for sustainable tourism, leveraging the Monastery\u2019s exceptional geographical setting and architectural significance. Central to this model is the local community, with associations and residents who have organized a wide range of events over the years.
