FORTE CULTURA is proud to announce a new partnership with Reveel, a digital platform designed to transform the visitor experience at cultural and heritage sites. After a fruitful meeting with the Reveel founders, Sebastian Mellblom and Robin Kanerva, and our network members, we are excited to invite all FORTE CULTURA members to explore this innovative solution.
Why Reveel?
Reveel provides a cost-effective and sustainable alternative to printed maps and traditional audio guides. Using nothing more than a smartphone, visitors can access:
- Digital maps and routes tailored to complex fortress layouts, including bastions, ramparts, and underground passages.
- Multilingual content in 28+ languages, powered by AI translation with post-editing tools for accuracy.
- Rich media integration, including archival videos, 3D reconstructions, and panoramic views.
- Interactive features, such as visitor feedback, surveys, and analytics to track engagement.
- No app download required—simply scan a QR code or click a link.
Already tested in Finland, where nearly half a million visitors have used the platform, Reveel has proven its reliability and impact on cultural tourism in many countries. Partners report significant cost savings by reducing printed materials, while also lowering environmental impact.
Benefits for Fortress Managers
- Easy setup & control: Staff can create and update content directly through Reveel Studio.
- Accessibility: Screen-reader compatibility, adjustable fonts, and offline caching for low-connectivity sites.
- Strategic fit: Open to partnerships in European projects (Horizon, Interreg, Creative Europe) with co-branding options.
- Sustainability: Reduced waste and carbon footprint through digital-first visitor information.
- Sponsorship opportunities: Each fortress can include links to partner businesses—such as hotels, restaurants, tour operators, or guides—that act as sponsors. These sponsors can contribute to the application fee, helping to reduce costs for fortress managers while strengthening ties with the local tourism ecosystem.
Suomalinna and Ukraine language
The new mobile guide was ceremoniously launched in May 2023 by the Finnish Ambassador to Ukraine, Olga Dibrova, also at the FORTE CULTURA member fortress Suomenlinna (FI). It leads visitors along stone walls, historic cannons, parks, and stunning sea views, while also sharing the stories of the fortress’s builders, defenders, and residents. The audio guide is available in Finnish, English, Swedish, and Ukrainian, with subtitles in over twenty languages. The Ukrainian version is also Finland’s first mobile guide in the Ukrainian language and was created as part of an initiative by Olena Zelenska, the spouse of the President of Ukraine, to promote the expansion of Ukrainian-language digital tours around the world. The project was produced by the Ehrensvärd Society in collaboration with the Reveel platform, and the mobile tour is available for €4.99.
Exclusive FORTE CULTURA Offer
Thanks to our partnership, all FORTE CULTURA members receive a 50% discount on Reveel’s subscription plans (starting at just €99/month). This makes Reveel an affordable, future-ready solution for even small and medium-sized heritage sites.
