Rainer Nitsche, Deputy Mayor of Magdeburg in Department III Economy, Tourism and Regional Cooperation, opened the “2nd Elbe Fortress Cultural Heritage Forum”, which was attended by the Mayor of Dömitz as well as representatives from Stade, Königstein, Terezin (CZ), Torgau, Dresden and the fortress network. Among other things, joint marketing instruments for the new regional brand FORTE CULTURA® Elbe-Festungen and joint activities in the 2020 season were discussed intensively. During the subsequent guided tour of the fortress city of Magdeburg, Ravelin 2 was particularly impressive, which has developed into a tourist gem in Magdeburg thanks to the enormous voluntary commitment of Rüdiger Stefanek and his “Ravelin 2” e.V. restoration association.
