Experts from Serbia, Germany, Croatia, Switzerland and Turkey met at Petrovaradin Fortress to discuss transnational cooperation in the maintenance and marketing of fortresses in the Danube region.

FORTE CULTURA and the European Fortress Tourism and Fortress Marketing Network were pre- sented in detail in three lectures and with an image film. Around 50 participants, including representa- tives from ICOMOS, ICOFORT and Europa Nos- tra, discussed possible ways of sustainably valorising the cultural heritage of fortress monuments in the Danube region.
