The museum represents the fortified ideal city of Fredericia in Denmark, thereby enriching international cooperation centred on Europe\u2019s fortification heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"eplus-wrapper wp-block-paragraph\">Fredericia was founded in 1650 as a royal fortified ideal city on the Little Belt and is today one of the most impressive examples of early modern urban and fortification planning in Northern Europe. Its strictly geometric layout, the preserved ramparts and its unique history as a free city characterised by religious tolerance make Fredericia an outstanding site of fortified cultural heritage.
