Forte Cultura, the European hub for military heritage, offers highly flexible internships that adapt to your field of study and personal interests. Whether you want to explore a topic for your future research or thesis, or simply gain real experience in your area, we’ll help you grow your specialization even further. Working with universities and institutions across Europe, we’ll also help you access the data and resources you need for your academic work.

📍Where can you intern?

  • Forte Cultura (NGO) headquarters in Berlin – internship in our fully equipped office. English or German language skills are required. Our director will be available to guide you. The office: FORTE CULTURA e.V. Albertinenstr. 1, 13086 Berlin
  • Member institutions across Europe – complete your internship in a stunning fortress. You could work as a Forte Cultura intern, directly for the local member institution, or combine both options. We unite big cities as well as quiet peripheries around Europe. Each member can have a different background — be it a municipality, state, region, NGO, university, museum, cultural institution, or other organization – see the list of our member institutions and partner organizations HERE.
    • Your home country – if there is a member institution, you can also do your internship in your home country.
  • Brussels – internships can also be arranged at office of EFFORTS Europe nearby the European Parliament.

💡What will you do?

Internships combine regular tasks with expert activities tailored to your field:

  • Regular tasks for FORTE CULTURA organization: up to your choice: communication with a diverse European network, project management, certification within the Council of Europe, general coordination and diplomatic activities, content creation, website and social media campaigns, conference and online meetings organization etc. See HERE who you will be working with on a daily basis.
  • Expert tasks: participate in the Scientific Advisory Board, conduct research with other academics, write analyses aligned with your specialization and with the needs of the network.

Students and experts from all fields – history, architecture, cultural heritage, tourism, digital media, sustainability, urbanism, archaeology, geography, marketing, event management, arts, economics, and public engagement. You will never be bored – there is plenty of work and many opportunities to grow academically and professionally.

Duration: Internships are not limited – they can be arranged for short or long periods depending on your availability and goals.

The internship is also open to professionals, including tourist guides from our member sites (job shadowing). The internship is unpaid, but participation through an Erasmus+ traineeship is common. Long-term collaboration may follow.
