“FORTE CULTURA – Discover the cultural heritage of fortress monuments in the Euroregion PRO EUROPA VIADRINA (DE-PL)” – a joint project of City of Kostrzyn nad Odrą, FORTE CULTURA e.V. and Heimatverein Gusow-Platkow e.V., funded by Euroregion Pro Europa Viadrina (Small Project Fund) as part of the INTERREG VI A Brandenburg-Poland 2021-2027 cooperation programme with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The aim of the small-scale project was to finance the international fortress conference marking the 10th anniversary of FORTE CULTURA in November 2024 in Kostrzyn nad Odra, while at the same time raising awareness of the fortified heritage of the Euroregion PRO EUROPA VIADRINA and promoting international networking.

Work package 2: International congress with excursions on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the European Cultural Route of Fortified Monuments -FORTE CULTURA- in Kostrzyn nad Odrą 2014
Project results:
In occasione del 10° anniversario di FORTE CULTURA, 60 membri e ospiti provenienti da 9 Paesi si sono riuniti nella località di fondazione Kostrzyn nad Odrą (PL) per celebrare l'anniversario dell'Itinerario Culturale Eruopeo del Patrimonio Culturale dei Monumenti Fortificati. Tra questi, le stazioni di FORTE CULTURA di Ingolstadt, Königstein (Sassonia), Terezín, Josefov, Praga, Gizycko, Fort Gorgast e Kulturbunker Strausberg.
The project also included the development and printing of a FORTE CULTURA information brochure on the fortified cultural heritage of the Oder-Warta Region: e.g. the Fortress System Kostrzyn nad Odra (former Küstrin) including Fort Gorgast, the former Renaissance fortress of Drezdenko, the fortified castles of St. John in Lagow and Friedland, the Oder-Warthe-Bogen defence line, Cold War bunkers in Strausberg, Falkenhagen, Bad Saarow and Kunersdorf.
