The decision has been taken.<\/strong> On March 16, 2026, FORTE CULTURA officially notified the Executive Secretary of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe of its plan to apply for certification as a \u201cCultural Route of the Council of Europe\u201d during the 2026\u20132027 Certification Cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is more than a formal step. It means that our network is ready to move forward and strengthen its European profile, its visibility, and its capacity to create opportunities for members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why this matters<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Certification as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe is not simply a label. It is a recognition that a network has a clear European meaning, a coherent cultural theme, sound cooperation, and a real capacity to create value in territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FORTE CULTURA already has strong foundations: a distinctive heritage theme, an expanding European network, and a growing experience in tourism, cooperation, and cultural development. The challenge now is to make this value more visible, more measurable, and more widely shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How we want to approach this goal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our strategy is practical. We do not want this process to become a burden for members. On the contrary, we want to build it step by step through simple and useful actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A key point is to show that FORTE CULTURA is not only a network on paper, but a route that produces concrete effects. For this reason, data matters.<\/strong> We need to document, in a credible way, the relevance of our work in terms of tourism, activities, partnerships, and local impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why we ask members to contribute a few essential figures through the data collection initiative<\/strong> already launched on our website: Help us measure our impact<\/a>. The related Formularz Google<\/strong> can be accessed directly here: Data Form for Members<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are not asking for complex studies. A limited number of basic figures is enough to begin building a stronger common picture of our impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, we want to continue strengthening cooperation through projects, clusters, and local stakeholder engagement. Certification should help us become not only more visible at European level, but also more useful to each member in daily practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What we ask from our members<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This journey cannot be carried by the Board alone. It needs the active participation<\/strong> of the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first request has been already mentioned: please fill in the tourism and activity data form<\/strong>. This is an important contribution because it helps transform our shared narrative into documented evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second request concerns the visibility of the FORTE CULTURA brand<\/strong>. We invite all members to improve the presence of the network by using the Logo i link FORTE CULTURA<\/strong> on their websites, information panels, brochures, and public events. A stronger common visibility will make the route more recognisable and more credible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A third invitation is to participate in the network’s activities by joining our annual meeting opportunities, either in person or online, starting with the FORTE CULTURA Annual General Meeting and Congress 2026 in La L\u00ednea de la Concepci\u00f3n: here is the link for Congress information and registration<\/a>. Participation in the AGM and Congress is not only useful for exchange and networking; it is also a visible sign of commitment to the common path we are building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A common opportunity<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The title of this article, Alea iacta est<\/strong> - the die is cast<\/em> \u2013 reflects a clear choice. We have started. Now we must move forward with commitment, but also with confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The certification process will require work and cooperation, but it is also a real opportunity: to reinforce the role of fortified heritage in Europe, to strengthen FORTE CULTURA as a network, and to create new value for our members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I therefore invite all members to join this effort in a positive spirit. Even a small contribution can help build something important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
