Dr. Hans-Rudolf Neumann is a founding member and scientific advisor of FORTE CULTURA. As a scientist, he regularly conducts fortress study tours around the world. In addition to the expertly super- vised visits to fortified monuments, Dr. Neumann‘s tours, which are conceived as pilot tours, are often also the occasion and start of cooperation between FORTE CULTURA and the fortress sites in order to jointly develop the cultural heritage of fortified monuments and to sustainably secure and use it for the future.

Following the establishment of FORTE CULTURA in 2014, Dr. Hans-Rudolf Neumann’s pilot and study tours were organised under the new fortress tourism brand ‘FORTE CULTURA’. Dr Neumann published extensive ‘Fortificatory Travel Reports’ in German based on his study tours, which, on the one hand, meticulously document the itinerary and, on the other, provide a detailed account of the fortification heritage he visited. The ‘Fortificatory Travel Reports’ are published by Roderer Verlag and partly available.

Even before the establishment of FORTE CULTURA, study tours led by Dr Neumann had taken him to India, Oman, Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Russian enclave of Königsberg and St Petersburg, as well as to many other places.
