Torgau is the only large fortress system in Saxony that has been partially preserved. At the heart of the Elbe fortress are the historic old town and the forti- fied Renaissance Hartenfels Castle. The Grenadier Battalion Spiegel e.V. with its president Manfred Dauer now represents the town of Torgau in the European Fortress Tourism and Fortress Marketing Network.
